Fluid Acrylic on Wood Panel
It has often been said that there is no place as lovely as Whidbey Island in the summer. These paintings are a tribute to the color of life on Whidbey: specifically the vivid reds and oranges of sinking sunsets, the many blues of our Salish Sea and vast skies, and the warm colors of fields, crumbling bluffs, and sugar sand beaches. The series was created with small magnets on the back of each artwork, so the paintings could be displayed in a grid format on metal. The magnets allowed the viewer to participate in the artistic process by easily rearranging the small square paintings into an arrangement of their choice.
